Introduction

On behalf of the Head Coach of the EDZA West U18 AAA Reds, Abby Clarke, we are very excited to announce our upcoming Development Camp for the team’s upcoming 2021-2022 season. We are EDZA West’s only U18 AAA Female Hockey program and are looking forward to building on the team’s past season performance and to continue to offer an exciting, challenging and elite-athlete focused program this coming season.

ID Camp

The U18 AAA Reds would like to invite all Female U18 aged players (born 2004-2006) to their ID Camp. The intent of this Development Camp is to determine interest and calibre of players for the 2021-2022 season. Attendance at this camp is not mandatory for consideration this season, however, it does allow the coaches the opportunity to view all the players in advance of our August selection camp (details on the selection camp will be sent out and posted to various websites and social media in late June 2021 or before).

The following are the two (2) Development camp ice times/dates/locations:

Registration

Registration for these sessions is open to all female players born in 2004/2005/2006. In accordance with Hockey New Brunswick Elite Hockey Commission Operations Manual (dated June 2020), female players born in 2007 (2nd year U15) may try out for U18 AAA Female hockey.

To further facilitate a streamlined registration process, we have set up our registration online. Please go to the following link: https://form.jotform.com/211095104600238 to complete your registration and submit electronically. Due to COVID-19, we will only be accepting e-transfers for the payment of the development camp fee, which can be made to edzawest.reds@gmail.com (please use security word REDS) and must be paid in advance. Last day to register is May 5th 2021. A player will only be considered fully registered when we receive their online registration and e-transfer.

Specific details and information will be sent out to all players/parents by email prior to the first session as well as important information related to mandatory COVID-19 safety measures at the specific City of Fredericton arenas. These rules will be strictly enforced and are in place for the safety of everyone.

As a result of ongoing COVID-19 safety measures currently in place with the City of Fredericton, we are only able to have upto 35 players on the ice which will be on a “first-registered, first-served” basis. All those who register after the initial 35 spots are filled will be placed on a waiting list should there be any cancellations. We will only notify those on the waiting list should a spot come available.

Cost

The registration cost for this camp, which includes 2 icetimes, is $25 per player. The fee remains the same if a player is only able to attend one session. Any player who is unable to attend due to Provincial Health Measures in their community may be reimbursed their fee. As well, if the sessions need to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, fees will be reimbursed. Otherwise, all registration fees are non-refundable.

Further information

We plan on conducting multiple ice sessions during the months of June through July (we will be putting out a call for these session dates/times/location/cost once we have confirmed ice times) with the selection camp occuring in August (dates TBA). As well, we will be announcing soon our summer conditioning program as well. Lots of great news to come shortly!
